What's the difference between Free, Pro, and Pro+?
Free gives 3 optimizations across the lifetime of an account. Pro ($29/mo) gives unlimited optimizations on standard AI. Pro+ ($97/mo) layers a 60-minute white-glove strategy call, 14 keywords per book, a quarterly refresh, and direct priority support on top of Pro.
What does StoryShip Pro+ include that Pro doesn't?
A 60-minute screen-share strategy call with a StoryShip listing specialist, 14 keywords per optimization (vs. 7 on Pro), a quarterly re-optimization refresh for one title of your choice, priority email support answered by a human, and early access to flagship AI features. Pro+ is everything in Pro, plus the human strategy layer.
Who is Pro+ for?
Indie authors publishing 4+ titles, anyone whose Amazon catalog is a meaningful part of their income, and authors who have already paid for ads and want someone to look at their listing strategy with them rather than just generate keywords. If you're publishing your first book, Pro is a better fit.
What's the refund policy?
Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe and can be canceled at any time from your account settings. Access continues through the end of the current billing period — there are no partial refunds for the unused days, but you won't be billed again. Email
support@storyship.polsia.app if you were charged in error and we'll review it case by case.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?
Yes. Pausing keeps your account, optimization history, and saved books intact without charging you. While paused you can't run new optimizations, and email nudles (welcome, Day 1, Day 3/7/14 nurture, Day 7 digest) stop. Resume anytime and your access reactivates on the same plan — no re-onboarding.
What happens to my signups and waitlist entries while paused?
Everything is preserved as-is. Free-tier optimizations already used don't come back when you resume, but Pro/Pro+ optimizations and any Pro+ white-glove session you were mid-cycle on will pick up where they left off.
Which platforms does StoryShip support?
StoryShip is optimized for Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) — that's where every listing-tuned keyword, description, and category recommendation is targeted. KDP paperbacks and hardcovers use the same listing, so the output applies to both. We do not currently optimize for Draft2Digital, IngramSpark, Apple Books, or Kobo listings — if you publish wide, run the Amazon KDP optimization and adapt the keywords manually for the others.
How long does onboarding take?
Less than 60 seconds. Sign up with email + password, click "+ New optimization," paste your Amazon description and add a few basics (title, genre, ASIN if you have one), and the AI returns a full result — new description, 7 (or 14, on Pro+) keywords, category picks, and a 0–100 score — typically in under a minute.
Who owns the data I submit — and the AI output?
You do, completely. Your book metadata (title, description, genre, ASIN) and the AI-generated description, keywords, and category recommendations all remain your property; we don't claim any rights to them, share them with third parties, or use them to train models. We retain the data on our servers so you can re-run and revisit optimizations, and you can request a full export by emailing
support@storyship.polsia.app.
How long does an optimization take, and can I re-run one?
Typical run time is under 60 seconds end-to-end. You can re-run an optimization on the same book as many times as your plan allows (Free: 3 total; Pro/Pro+: unlimited) — each run gives you a fresh description, a new keyword set, and a new score so you can compare approaches.
Does StoryShip support fiction and non-fiction?
Both. StoryShip is genre-aware on the input side (you pick from common genres like thriller, romance, memoir, business, self-help) and category-aware on the output side, so Amazon's category tree recommendations are tuned to what you actually wrote. The keyword and description logic was trained across the major commercial fiction and non-fiction categories indie authors publish into on KDP, and we update it as Amazon's browse categories shift.
Is StoryShip an agency or software?
Software — specifically an AI-powered self-serve tool. You submit your book metadata, the AI returns an optimized description, keywords, category picks, and a 0–100 score in under a minute, and you copy the result back into KDP yourself. There are no account managers or retainer contracts. The only exception is our
Pro+ tier, which adds an optional 60-minute live strategy call with a StoryShip listing specialist on top of the self-serve AI loop.
How is the price justified, and when will I see results?
StoryShip is priced at the cost of a single sponsored ad click on a poorly-targeted listing — far less than a freelance listing editor or a monthly ad budget. The value comes from time-to-first-result: most authors paste their current description and walk away with a usable new copy, 7 keywords, and category picks in their first session, often under five minutes from signup. Pro pays for itself the first time one of the new keywords ranks you for a search term you weren't visible on before;
Pro+ is priced for authors whose catalog is a meaningful part of their income and who want a human second pair of eyes on the strategy. The free tier exists so you can verify time-to-value before spending anything — full pricing on the
pricing page.
What's the refund and cancellation policy in detail?
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and you can cancel at any time from your account settings — no email required, no retention call, no cancellation form. When you cancel, your access continues through the end of the current billing period and you won't be charged again; there are no pro-rated partial refunds for unused days. If you were charged in error (duplicate billing, sign-up you didn't intend, etc.), email
support@storyship.polsia.app within 14 days and we'll refund the charge. The free tier never bills, so there's nothing to cancel there.
What does StoryShip not do?
StoryShip is a listing optimizer — not a production house. We don't ghostwrite or rewrite your manuscript, do line or developmental editing, commission cover art or formatting, run Amazon Ads or social media campaigns, write book descriptions from scratch with no input from you, or optimize for non-Amazon stores (Draft2Digital, IngramSpark, Apple Books, Kobo). What we do is take the metadata you already have — title, blurb, genre — and turn it into a tighter Amazon KDP listing. Everything else comes from you, your editor, your cover designer, or your ad service of choice.
